Save the date for ‘Gene Kelly: The Legacy’ at Chapman University June 1

Film historian and biographer Patricia Ward Kelly will host an intimate look at the career of her late husband – Hollywood icon Gene Kelly— on June 1 at 7 p.m. in Chapman University’s Memorial Hall.

“Gene Kelly: The Legacy” will take the audience behind the scenes to learn about the versatile talent who helped create some of the most memorable scenes in film history in such movie musicals  as Singin’ in the Rain, On The Town and An American In Paris.

The event combines rare and familiar film clips, never released audio recordings, memorabilia and personal insights culled from  Mrs. Kelly’s hours of interviews with her husband.  She reveals a very personal side of this American legend and his perspective on the innovative work for which he wished to be remembered. Variety praised this unique live performance as “a real treat.”
