Maybe you heard Southland Mega Groove at the Orange Street Fair. But if you missed that party you’re in luck because the rockin’ party band will get things started at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Chapman University’s Free Family-Friendly Summer Concert Series on the Attallah Piazza.
Southland Mega Groove (SMG) is a Southern California five-piece band with versatile vocalists and incredible musicianship that makes every concert “a tribute to California music.” Be ready to dance or just sit back and enjoy hits like the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Dani California and The Eagles’ Hotel California.
As always, picnics, lawn chairs and blankets (but no grills!) are welcome at the open-air concerts, and free parking will be available in the Lastinger Parking Structure. The campus opens for picnicking at 4:30 p.m. on concert days. Coming straight from work? No problem! Hot dogs, churros, pretzels, soft drinks, smoothies, popcorn and candy will be available for purchase.
It’s informal, fun and always a party. Hope to see you there. And don’t forget — the Alley Cats close the series Aug. 19. For more details, visit the concert website.
