PA Program Breaks Top 100 in First US News Ranking

Chapman University’s physician assistant program broke the top 100 in its first-ever ranking in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Health Schools.

The program was ranked No. 96, putting Chapman in the top third of accredited PA programs nationwide.

Rankings were calculated from surveys completed by administrators or faculty at accredited degree programs or schools using a 1-5 scale of academic quality, according to U.S. News.

“We are extremely proud of our physician assistant program here at Crean College. Cracking the top 100 for our first-time ranking reflects the excellence we strive for in curriculum, dedication of staff, talented faculty and extraordinary facilities for teaching and research,” said Janeen Hill, founding dean of Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences. “We look forward to continued success educating our future health care professionals.”

The PA program is home to the Simon Scholars program, which awards full scholarships to students facing adversity.

Three of Chapman’s graduate health sciences disciplines – pharmacy, physical therapy and communication sciences and disorders – also ranked in the top 100.

One of Chapman’s long-term goals in its new strategic plan is expanding graduate health science programs. Under that priority is strengthening existing programs, including the PA program.
