Chapman University’s Physicians Assistant Program Breaks the Top 100 in its First U.S. News & World Report Ranking

Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences physician assistant program broke the top 100 in its first-ever ranking in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Health Schools. The program is ranked No. 96, putting Chapman in the top third of accredited PA programs nationwide.

Founding dean of Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, Janeen Hill shared, “We are extremely proud of our physician assistant program here at Crean College. Cracking the top 100 for our first-time ranking reflects the excellence we strive for in curriculum, dedication of staff, talented faculty and extraordinary facilities for teaching and research.”

Rankings were calculated from surveys completed by administrators or faculty at accredited degree programs or schools using a 1-to-5 scale of academic quality, according to U.S. News & World Report.

One of Chapman’s long-term goals in its new strategic plan is expanding graduate health science programs. Under that priority is strengthening existing programs, including the PA program, “We look forward to continued success educating our future health care professionals,” Hill said.

According to California’s Employment Development Department, the need for physician’s assistants is expected to grow by 34% over the next decade. Chapman is helping to fill that critical need.

Additionally, three of Chapman’s graduate health sciences disciplines – pharmacy, physical therapy and communication sciences and disorders  – also ranked in the top 100.
