A new Volunteer Engagement portal launching at Chapman University this week will support a unified effort to recruit volunteers and match them with opportunities across campus.
“Right now, people are aware that our communities need more support than ever,” says Michael Perini, volunteer engagement manager. “Chapman has always relied on volunteers — alumni, parents, staff, faculty and people from the community — to help us fulfill the university’s essential needs and create the Chapman Experience. We realized that we could do a better job of organizing our program and helping our volunteers find the right opportunities for them.”
Find Flexible Volunteer Opportunities for Every Interest
The new hub will provide a single point of access for anyone who wants to assist Chapman through event and activity support, by serving on panels, committees and boards, by providing mentorship and advice to students, speaking in classrooms and more.
Volunteers can submit an interest form on the Volunteer Engagement portal and browse opportunities posted by schools, colleges and university departments. They will be matched with opportunities fitting their time and passions. Plans for the site include a message board where volunteers can communicate directly with one another.
Help Create the Chapman Experience Wherever You Are
No matter how much time they have to give, or where they are located, volunteers will find opportunities to get involved.
“The goal of the program is to ensure that every member of the Chapman family can be connected in a way that is meaningful for them and Chapman,” says Perini.
