Congratulations to This Week’s Service Plan of Recognition Recipients

We are proud to name this week’s Service Plan of Recognition awardees for their extraordinary work as Chapman responds to COVID-19. Each staff and administrator selected embodies the dedication and integrity that continues to drive and strengthen Chapman University.

This week’s recipients are: 

Irene Quinlan, senior academic advisor, Office of the Provost

Irene successfully co-led the hiring, training and supervising of the academic advising peer advisors who assisted new students with registration questions. She also researched technology to best serve students during registration for fall. – LB Brown

Nicole Nungaray, academic advisor, Office of the Provost

Nicole did an amazing job co-leading the hiring, training and supervising of the academic advising peer advisors who assisted new students with registration questions. She also supervised their use of Instagram to support incoming students. – LB Brown

Kevin Bedwell, client/media services technician, IS&T

Kevin has stepped in without hesitation to help lead the deployments of the webcams and Help Buttons in classrooms. I appreciate his hard work and dedication in providing excellent customer service to our students, faculty, and staff. – Helen Norris

Eddie Sauceda, chair – access services division, Leatherby Libraries

Eddie has helped to distribute technology loaner devices using curbside pickup. This has allowed IS&T time to focus on resolving technology issues and get these devices into the hands of our students, faculty and staff in a timely manner. – Helen Norris

Kara Ward, administrative support coordinator, Institute for Excellence in Teaching & Learning

Kara quickly got up-to-speed as one of the key hosts of Instructional Technology’s Drop-in Support Zoom Room, where she quickly and efficiently diagnoses the faculty member’s issue and assigns the appropriate staff member to assist them. – Helen Norris

Dario Baraggiotta, IT/media services support specialist, IS&T

Dario provides excellent on-site support for Rinker faculty using hyflex technology. He listens to the faculty member’s needs and provides outstanding answers. He fields frequent questions and can be counted on to deliver service excellence. – Helen Norris

Deanna Blanchet, assistant director, Chapman Fund, Strategic Engagement and Development

Deanna has done a phenomenal job pivoting our student phonathon program virtually. Her leadership and compassion are wonderful examples for our student workers! She is supportive and thoughtful with partners on campus! Great job Deanna! – Delite Travis

Jennifer Roseblade, development assistant, Strategic Engagement and Development

Jennifer models a quiet strength, determination and can-do attitude that helped Chapman rise during the pandemic. She takes on new projects in support of our team and priorities. She never says no and helps keep everyone at their best. – Delite Travis

Evan Burkin, development writer, Donor Relations

Evan continues to lead the communications and messaging for donor relations in light of COVID-19, and their impact at Chapman. He brings a positive and uplifting approach to communicating to our donors and Chapman Family. – Michele Wanner

Laura Miller, business analyst, University Advancement Systems

Laura has done a terrific job keeping our remote team on track during our conversion to Affinaquest despite changes due to COVID. Her detailed documentation will ensure we understand our new system and serve as a reference. – Michele Wanner

Kimberly Suh, vivarium manager, Office of Research

Under unprecedented circumstances, Kimberly has wonderful job of revising animal welfare, care and compliance under the extraordinary conditions of COVID-19. In addition, she has taken a leading role in the planning for the opening of the vivarium expansion and working with key stakeholders. She is a valuable part of supporting the research enterprise under these very challenging conditions of COVID-19. – Tom Piechota

Syed Haque, animal health technician, Office of Research

Syed has been instrumental in ensuring continuity in vivarium operations during COVID-19. He has worked with faculty and students to ensure there were no animal welfare issues and their work was properly supported. We appreciate all he is under these very challenging conditions of COVID-19. – Tom Piechota
