New Magazine Celebrates University Research, Discovery and Creativity

Research and creative activities are on the rise at Chapman University. To help share the terrific stories behind that work, the University this fall launched a new magazine – Chapman Forward, unveiled in November at the State of Research and Creative Activity presentation.

“Chapman Forward provides a glimpse into the role that research and scholarship play in enhancing student experiences and growing Chapman’s reputation,” says Thomas Piechota, Ph.D., vice president for research.

Among the features in the inaugural issue are stories about University scholars who are exploring the roots of racist hate, climate change and maternal and infant health. A book section highlights faculty publications. A Q&A with Chapman President Daniele Struppa offers insights into the research of the internationally known mathematician.

Chapman Forward is edited by Dennis Arp, editor of Chapman Magazine, and produced by Strategic Marketing and Communications. The digital version can be read online. In addition, campus community members may request a print copy through interoffice mail by emailing magazine@chapman.edu.
