Panther sculptor thrilled about Chapman "pride"

Nationally acclaimed wildlife artist Rosetta is overjoyed that Chapman has installed its fourth panther sculpture — all from her hand — on the campus.  The latest, “Panther’s Pride,” which Chapman has re-named “Harriet and Shanna the Panthers” in honor of Harriet Sandhu and her granddaughter Shanna Brajevic, was unveiled a few weeks ago in front of the Harriet and Mohindar S. “Sandy” Sandhu Residence and Conference Center.  Already popular with the students (exclamations of “cute!” and “wow!” were heard upon the unveiling), the sculpture of a mother panther and her cub represents the love of a student’s family as well as the “family” feeling found in the Sandhu Residence Center (great food in the Randall Dining Commons, world-class residential facilities and all the amenities!).  Rosetta (who goes by just the one name) added news about the sculpture to her website (

).   The three other Rosetta panther sculptures on campus are “Holly the Panther” (in the south endzone area of Wilson Field, named for Holly Wilson), “Katie the Panther” (on the hill above the Attallah Piazza and Canaday Amphitheater, named for Katharina “Katie” Bradley) and “Suki the Panther” (in the McCardle Events Plaza outside the northwest corner of Ernie Chapman Stadium, named for Suki McCardle.
