Congratulations to the Recipients of This Week’s Service Plan of Recognition

We are proud to name this week’s Service Plan of Recognition awardees for their extraordinary work as Chapman responds to COVID-19. Each staff and administrator selected embodies the dedication and integrity that continues to drive and strengthen Chapman University.

This week’s recipients are: 

Justine Lim, librarian, Interlibrary Loan      

Justine Lim does outstanding work in procuring books from interlibrary loan. Bracing the challenge of find readings mid-pandemic, Justine has gone above and beyond to make sure faculty have the materials they need. – Shira Klein

Nick Peterson, production support manager, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts

Nick is integral in supporting Dodge College productions and courses during Covid.  He and his team ensure film equipment remains available and safe for students, enacting contactless pickups, shipping items and disinfecting equipment. – Kareem Marashi

Hilary Anderson, administrative coordinator, ACES          

Hilary fully modified our entire admissions process this year for COVID.  She planned our online interview day expertly and it went off seamlessly, even with a record number of applications. Thank you, Hilary! – Kelly Kennedy

Robby Campbell, assistant production manager, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts

A tireless worker who oversees all undergraduate productions, all of which have constantly changing rules in the midst of this pandemic. Robby manages to keep his cool in this unpredictable time. His ability to navigate daily production issues and manage students’ frustrations at the same time, is commendable. – Ciara Jones

 Aaron McLean, academic programs administrator, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts

Aaron has been integral to the successful planning and execution of class scheduling during this pandemic and the pivoting changes to hyflex and online instruction. His knowledge of our academic programs and course needs, has been invaluable to the leadership in ensuring instructors and students have the support they need during this time. – Ciara Jones

 Jim Douglas, campus executive chef, Sodexo         

Jim Douglas, our Campus Executive Chef, has done a great job developing a special menu for the students returning to the Randall Dining Hall.

Sean Orrett, client services technician, IS&T

Sean provides exceptional customer service to everyone.  I receive many compliments about him.  Recently he assisted a faculty member using virtual learning tools to handle remote teaching.  The faculty member was deeply grateful. – Helen Norris

Armando Diaz, rinker IT support manager, IS&T

Armando provides exceptional service to faculty and staff and recently rescued the data from an old computer that stopped working.  This task was more complicated in a remote environment. Armando’s skills and service were much appreciated. – Helen Norris

Joseph Kim, coordinator, Talent Management, Human Resources

Joseph provided great assistance to IS&T in recruiting student talent to provide additional support for remote teaching to faculty. – Helen Norris

Erica De Guzman, UX/UI designer, SMC

In recognition for completing an urgent project to write and publish important Covid-19 vaccination information on the CU Safely Back website. – Jamie Ceman
