Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts has secured the No. 4 spot in The Wrap’s Top 50 film schools rankings.
This is the college’s fifth year in a row at No. 4, a position it also holds in The Hollywood Reporter’s national rankings.
“I’m delighted to see Dodge College recognized by The Wrap as the #4 film school in the country once again,” said Stephen Galloway, dean of Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. “Maintaining this ranking for five consecutive years, along with our four-year streak in The Hollywood Reporter’s film school rankings, is a true testament to the dedication and exceptional talent of our entire community—students, faculty and staff alike.”
Dodge College continues to set itself apart from other programs with its financial aid support for student productions, giving $20,000 for each graduate thesis film and $15,000 for each undergraduate film. Beyond funding, the college equips students with advanced technology that’s rarely accessible to up-and-coming filmmakers. Among the latest upgrades is a $1 million, 40-foot LED wall—a cutting-edge tool revolutionizing students’ ability to create and visualize their projects.
The college further links students to the film industry through its Master Class series. Over the past year, students enjoyed invaluable experiences learning from industry leaders, including Academy Award-winning director Alexander Payne and talent agent Ari Emanuel.
Dodge College’s impact reaches beyond campus, with alumni like Payton Koch thriving in the industry. Koch, an Emmy-nominated editor, has earned acclaim for his work on the popular series “Only Murders in the Building.”
By consistently offering students the resources, expertise and industry connections essential for success in the competitive film and media landscape, Dodge College’s high ranking reflects its unwavering commitment to excellence.
