On Thursday, April 18, the entire Chapman Family rallied together on Giving Day 2024 to collectively impact the Chapman Experience for students, faculty and our campuses.
Thanks to the enthusiasm of alumni, parents, grandparents, friends, staff, faculty, community and board members, Chapman’s annual 24-hour online fundraising event surpassed its goal of 1,000 gifts and raised over $1 million for the Chapman Fund.
Significant this year was Chapman’s celebration of President Emeritus Jim Doti’s 50 years at the university. His leadership shaped Chapman’s history and fueled its remarkable growth from a small, regional institution to a nationally ranked university. On Giving Day, Chapman announced a special challenge to celebrate Doti, which helped unlock additional funding.
“I am honored by the outpouring of support we received on Giving Day,” said Doti. “Together, we continue to inspire endless possibilities for Panthers, both now and into the future.”
Chapman’s sixth annual Giving Day focused on participation rather than the size of individual gifts. With numerous matching and unlocking challenges throughout the day, gifts of all sizes were valued and appreciated.
“We applaud the Chapman Family’s incredible generosity and philanthropic spirit,” said Executive Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer Matt Parlow. “The funds raised on Giving Day will power the momentum of extraordinary experiences.”
As the end of Chapman’s academic and fiscal year approaches, Giving Day caps the first full year of the university’s comprehensive campaign, Inspire: The Campaign for Chapman University, in which over $387 million has been raised.
If you missed Giving Day, you can still make a collective impact for Chapman students, faculty and campus with a gift to the Chapman Fund. The Chapman Fund is the university’s unrestricted fund and is the foundation for student scholarships and direct support when challenges arise.
