Casey Decker LaBar, associate director of admission, Office of Admission
Casey has been instrumental in collaborating with the College of Performing Arts in virtual review of the applicants including weekend work to ensure timely admission. At the same time, her leadership of her team has been exemplary. – Jim Whitaker
Garrett Addison, assistant director of admission, Office of Admission
Garrett has developed weekly content as part of our social media outreach efforts to new students. He has also assumed the responsibility for management of all requests and processing of new student deferrals. – Jim Whitaker
Sara Fike, cashier, Financial Services
Sara has been instrumental in keeping the daily cashiering operations on task. Her kindness and knowledge responding to emails, phone calls and inquiries is appreciated by all who work with her. We are grateful to have her on our team. – Michelle Clark
Sukbae Kim, university services manager, Facilities Management
With the campus in constant flux, Sukbae has adjusted and rotated his staff to keep mail services and copy services going. He has also been very helpful in producing COVID signage as needed. – Rick Turner
Jose Diaz, client services technician, IS&T
Jose has provided terrific virtual support to faculty through the pandemic. He was knowledgeable, articulate, patient, good-humored and courteous. He works with faculty for as long as it takes to get the problem resolved. – Helen Norris
Joey Anderson, client/media services technician, IS&T
Joey has provided great support for virtual events since March. He gave this same level of service during the Provost interviews, providing stellar support to the candidates as they met virtually with a broad set of campus stakeholders. – Helen Norris
Bob Kasai, public safety officer, Public Safety
Chris Wargo, Public Safety Officer, Public Safety
Officers Kasai and Wargo assisted a person who had lost their property into a storm drain. They went above and beyond crawling in the gutter to assist with recovering the item for the person. Their actions demonstrate their commitment to help others and is a good example of providing The Chapman Experience. – Randy Burba
Felipe Hidalgo, dispatcher, Public Safety
Dispatcher Hidalgo always maintains a positive attitude and demeanor no matter how frequently he is called upon for assistance. His outstanding customer service during these challenging times offers reassurance to the community. – Randy Burba
Michelle Garcia, parking & transportation officer, Public Safety, Parking & Transportation Services
Officer Garcia was instrumental in the success of a recent drive-thru event at Rinker. She took it upon herself to reach out to the on-site coordinator and assist in facilitating a smooth event. Her proactive approach reflects the team concept; with the entire Chapman Family being the team. – Randy Burba
Amanda Zamora, assistant director, operations, Residence Life and First Year Experience
Amanda oversaw the recent spring housing application process, and she has been instrumental in working with campus partners to ensure we are prepared to open residence halls this spring. – Dave Sundby

Celina helped organize a virtual professional development opportunity last week for office assistants across all areas in our department. She has supervised and supported remote student workers excellently! – Dave Sundby
Annessa Garcia, resident director, Morlan, Residence Life and First Year Experience
Annessa has continued to improve the food pantry operations and resources throughout the pandemic. She also finalized a partnership with a regional food bank to provide more options to students. – Dave Sundby
