Congratulations to This Week’s Service Plan of Recognition Recipients

We are proud to name this week’s Service Plan of Recognition awardees for their extraordinary work as Chapman responds to COVID-19. Each staff and administrator selected embodies the dedication and integrity that continues to drive and strengthen Chapman University.

This week’s recipients are: 

Kim Mikhael, associate director academic financial operations, Provost Office

Kim has gone above and beyond the call of duty during the campus closure. In addition to her normally heavy workload, she has assisted with creating a new template letter to be used for part-time lecturer extra work. – LB Brown

Adey Oyenuga, director of purchasing, Purchasing

Adey did a great job locating products and vendors during these challenging times. – Behzad Binesh

James Wayne, electrician technician 4, Facilities Management

During the campus closure, James has been instrumental in supporting the campus electrical infrastructure. He has not missed a day and continues to set the example of a dedicated, conscientious employee. Keep up the great work!! – Rick Turner

Rudy Arciniega, benefits manager, Human Resources

Rudy worked tirelessly to secure and expand telemedicine services to support Chapman employees with the challenges of COVID-19 and social unrest. – Brian Powell

Frank Warren, project manager, IS&T

Frank has been critical to the Hyflex Classroom project making sure the classrooms have systems that work well for faculty. He is also working on the construction of the Fowler School of Engineering and the remodel of Wilkinson Hall. – Helen Norris

Erik Gomez, classroom technology engineer, IS&T

Erik is programming the control systems for the Hyflex classroom project. He patiently reprograms these systems when there are changes in how the technology will be used. He is always helpful, professional and creative in his approach. – Helen Norris

Lionel Luna, lieutenant, Public Safety

Lionel did an outstanding job working with Michael Kelley and Karen Beam to ensure the health and safety of personnel by coordinating care and providing workable solutions for continuity of operations within the Public Safety Department. – Randy Burba

Kirk Miller, operations administrator, Public Safety

Kirk has done an excellent job adapting and handling a variety of logistical changes around Covid-19; ensuring DPS personnel have the tools they need to effectively serve our campus community. – Randy Burba

Kevin Shieh, officer, Public Safety

Officer Shieh has led by example with a positive attitude and good work ethic and filled in for any shortages without hesitation. – Randy Burba

Sean Porter, officer, Public Safety

Officer Porter routinely assists with investigations and completes dozens of door report and reviews camera footage.  His efforts recently provided important useable evidence to a series of property crimes. – Randy Burba

Michelle Anguka, writer, SMC

Michelle has demonstrated initiative and commitment in her work, including the Working@Chapman newsletter and numerous other assignments. She is always willing and ready to take on any project with a “can-do” attitude. – Jamie Ceman

Kathy Wongsatittham, executive assistant, Campus Planning and Design

Kathy has been outstanding since day one: facilitating board-level Real Estate Committee meetings and project and planning team meetings; budget, website, weekly/monthly reporting and enhanced internal and external communications. – Collette Creppell
