This week’s recipients are:
Vanessa Reang, procurement specialist, Purchasing/Financial Services
Vanessa has been able to balance working remotely while handling various departmental projects. She is also seeking for efficient ways to transact with our suppliers. – Behzad Binesh
Liz Rosero, purchasing coordinator, Purchasing/Financial Services
Liz is always willing to go the extra mile to cover all bases. She has been able to make sure CU personnel are still able to obtain their office supplies while taking on various departmental projects. – Behzad Binesh
Patrick Rausch, technology buyer, Purchasing/Financial Services
Patrick continues to work closely with all departments for their respective technology needs. He has especially assisted IS&T with their procurements, deliveries, and “CU Safely Back” initiatives. – Behzad Binesh
Teresita Huerta, administrative assistant, Sodexo
Teresita had been a key part of the efforts to keep the Chapman community connected during this time. Her work on the front lines with all departments here on campus has been very helpful. – Eric Cameron

Throughout the crisis, Greg has continually made the faculty & staff feel comfortable & at ease with the tools that we provided them & always follows up with “Feel free to call me if you need anything” which is much appreciated by all. – Helen Norris

Joey has been key in the management of many virtual events hosted by the University over the past few months. He’s gone above & beyond to ensure participants can successfully test their technology for the best possible experience. – Helen Norris

Al and Cliff displayed great human compassion when they provided sustenance and blankets for a person who was temporarily homeless. A gesture indicative of Chapman’s caring culture. –Randy Burba
Bethanie Le, public relations coordinator, Strategic Marketing and Communications
Bethanie has consistently exceeded expectations through her diligent work with the press, media tools and public relations analytics for the benefit of Chapman. – Jamie Ceman
Dawn Bonker, senior writer, Strategic Marketing and Communications
Dawn performs all tasks to a level of excellence – willingly and cheerfully. At a time when our need for clear writing and solid communication has never been more important, Dawn is crucial to Chapman’s continued success. – Jamie Ceman
Laura Miller, business analyst, University Advancement Systems
Laura is a steadfast champion for our database conversion. She takes the lead on challenging assignments & maintains a positive approach. Laura is a great collaborator & colleague and keeps us engaged & updated on our progress. – Michele Wanner
Justin Kerfoot, senior campus planner, Campus Planning & Design
Justin has kept major & minor projects for the university moving successfully forward, including a $25mm Fowler Engineering build-out at Keck, design for the Wilkinson Hall renovation, and CU Back Safely signage. – Collette Creppell
Al Rodriquez, sergeant, Public Safety
Sgt. Rodriquez has continued working closely with OPD & Community Relations to help mitigate neighbor concerns, especially surrounding off-campus student gatherings during COVID-19. He is truly an integral part of our team! – Alisa Driscoll
Miguel Viveros, event manager, Event Scheduling Services
COVID-19 caused 25-Live in-person training sessions to be cancelled and an alternative was needed. Miguel took the lead to revamp training and created a virtual alternative to make sure everyone who needed training could receive it. – Sonya Hall
Karen Swift, EH&S manager, Risk Management
Karen supports COVID responses, on & off-campus, spending 3 days escorting our outside consultant in an assessment of the Rinker & Orange campuses, supporting departmental contributions to several Task Forces, plus daily on campus needs. – Allan Brooks
Chuck Sohaskey, lab safety administrator, Risk Management
Chuck has led efforts to return researchers to their School of Pharmacy labs, managing the guidelines & training requirements that enable necessary approvals for important COVID-related research, including site visit & lab inspections. – Allan Brooks
Jennie Evangelista, EH&S specialist, Risk Management
Jennie has worked to create online COVID education programs, established as a necessary precedent to the return of researchers to campus, created enrollments & necessary reporting and signage, while supporting numerous task forces. – Allan Brooks
Sandra Bacio, executive assistant to the Vice President and General Counsel, Office of Legal Affairs
Sandra was able to complete the year-end statistics reports on-time, without the support of our students who usually play a large role in completing these tasks, while our office is experiencing a very high service demand level. – Janine DuMontelle
