Stephanie Takemoto, senior academic data analyst, Provost Office
Stephanie has stepped up to take on additional projects & create additional reports that have been pivotal in helping the Provost & I make decisions related to the running of the campus during these changing times. She is doing a great job! — LB Brown
Reginald Ramos, retail supervisor, Sodexo
Reggie led the change to close retail operations in less than 24 hours and was key in reducing restaurant inventories. He is still serving our stranded students and the teams on campus as well as keeping an operation open at Rinker. — Eric Cameron
Vicente Zuniga, building engineer Rinker, Facilities Management
Vincente was quick to answer the call, to maintain the Rinker campus and its integrity during this crisis. His efforts will allow the facility a quick transition back to normal operations. — Rick Turner
Marvin Soto, set-up crew, Facilities Management
Marvin has a track record of being the “can do” employee. He has been quick to absorb duties outside of his responsibility these past few weeks. Truly an inspiration to the staff and his coworkers. — Rick Turner
Jesus Poot, plumber, Facilities Management
This past week during the transition to a minimal staff, Jesse managed two major floods at Panther Village. Jesse was also responsible for all plumbing related issues in the dorms and Chapman faculty/staff houses. — Rick Turner
Zola Martinez, custodian, Aramark
Zola has consistently been responding to her daily duties with a positive attitude. Her performance over these past few weeks has been exemplary and true to her desire to help others. — Rick Turner
Armando Diaz, Rinker IT manager, IS&T
Armando has been patient helping students with new laptops, faculty and staff with hardware. He is unflappable and always makes a person seem like their issues are so important to him. — Helen Norris
Phillip Lyle, AVP for infrastructure and research technology, IS&T
Phillip has been a great partner to find a multitude of technical solutions for our students, faculty & staff, including softphones, security for Zoom and implementing Teams. He has been patient and gracious with all. — Helen Norris
Susilo Nugroho, client services technician, IS&T
Susilo Nugroho has been amazing at assisting faculty in this time. He has always been wonderful, but during these trying times with people struggling with remote learning he has exceeded his consistent level of excellence. — Helen Norris
Justin Kaneshiro, information security specialist, IS&T
Justin has taken a leadership role in the Teaching Remotely support group. His attitude & performance are amazing. He still made time to weigh-in on his regular job in IT security matters (vulnerability management, zoom bombing). — Helen Norris
Kevin Shieh, patrol officer, Public Safety
Officer Shieh has gone above & beyond to help on an individual level, when an officer became ill. Shieh bought and delivered diapers & goods to the home. Shieh has been a strong team player during this time; friendly & professional. — Randy Burba

Tammy has been point for laptop distribution and created a distribution system at the Public Safety office that was safe & efficient. She has also been lead in tracking building access & has facilitated several challenging calls. — Randy Burba

The Public Safety dispatchers are the first line of assistance, information & guidance. They facilitate requests, coordinate access, keep patrol officers informed & have prevented crimes through their observations and quick dispatching of officers. — Randy Burba
Sheryl Boyd, assistant director parking and transportation, Public Safety
Sheryl has been vital in repurposing her team & resources to assist with the patrol & security to keep the campus safe. She has assisted many students and parents with vehicle pickups – always helpful & providing excellent service. — Randy Burba
Mark Davis, fire & life safety manager, Public Safety
Mark facilitated & negotiated a transportation agreement with a local ambulance company that can augment other city EMS services. He worked with Orange’s EMS personnel to create appropriate best practices for Public Safety’s response. — Randy Burba
Michael Whitehouse, equipment coordinator, Public Safety
Michael is keeping our department and vehicles outfitted with the proper protective equipment so that we can continue to respond safely to community request and calls for service, including safe transportation in an emergency. — Randy Burba
Michelle Garcia, parking & transportation services officer, Public Safety
Michelle has shown a willingness to serve in any capacity – patrolling parking lots, verifying headcount & student vehicle count and assisting with foot patrols, as well as increased sanitation efforts of equipment & vehicles. — Randy Burba
Tracey Cervantes, parking & transportation supervisor, Public Safety
Tracey has worked to create customized reports to facilitate refunds, including reviewing 7,000+ records to verify information. Her attention to detail & work ethic has allowed us to be able to process transactions in a timely manner. — Randy Burba
Jordan Vaughn, program coordinator, Residence Life and First Year Experience
Jordan coordinated our student Fenestra Community coordinators so they could send regular updates to all first-year students in the different schools and colleges. She also designed remote work expectations for student staff in RLFYE. — Dave Sundby
Amanda Zamora, assistant director, Operations, Residence Life and First Year Experience
Amanda has provided excellent leadership for the operations team in RLFYE, including planning for office coverage, processing refunds for students and coordinating communication across areas on our team. — Dave Sundby

Jamie has continued to support first-year community resident directors in closing down their buildings by walking vacated rooms. She also took the lead with our initial closing team that redesigned our checkout process in a single day. — Dave Sundby

Joe spent multiple evenings answering phone calls after-hours during the initial weeks of transition to help parents & families understand changes. He also led a few project-based work groups while we transitioned residential services. — Dave Sundby

From no COVID-19 website to an extremely active and robust site in just a few days is no small feat. While there are many content providers, Erica was pivotal in the design, development and quick deployment & functionality of this site. — Jamie Ceman

Justin coordinates and manages the virtual engagement website, which provides a comprehensive listing of the virtual experiences and opportunities that keep students connected and engaged. — Jerry Price
Aileen Andrion, nurse practitioner, Student Health Center
Aileen is a team player dedicated to going above and beyond the health care needs of our students. Aileen treated students with COVID-19 symptoms without any hesitation. — Jerry Price
Erica Evans, coordinator of parent engagement, University Advancement
Erica orchestrated the Parent Town Hall, coordinated a response program for parent questions, worked late ensuring parents received timely information and answered countless parent calls, emails & Facebook posts from Parent Community. — Kim Greenhall
Deanna Blanchet, assistant director, Chapman Fund, University Advancement
Deanna planned a new version of Giving Day and had 40K+ letters mailed before Giving Day, April 28. She organized mailing data for a donor letter written by President Struppa and designed support teams for Chapman’s Giving Day. — Kim Greenhall
Jami McCoy, gift recorder, University Advancement
Jami continued reporting to the office weekly to ensure donor gifts are booked & recognized in a timely manner. She volunteered to assist other departments with projects, which she manages between her regular job responsibilities. — Pia Brancolino
