Chapman University business major Jess Salgado ’19 has been accepted into the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Undergraduate Fellows Program.
The mission of the fellows program is to increase the number of historically disenfranchised and underrepresented professionals in student affairs and higher education.
A business management major from Tustin, California, Salgado says she looks forward to the conferences, workshops and mentoring the NASPA Fellows Program offers. She is particularly interested in learning how student life programs can ease campus life for first-generation students such as herself.
“That is one of the reasons I want to pursue the career,” she says. “I want to help students.”
Her local mentor in the program will be Justin Koppelman, Ph.D., associate director of Chapman’s Department of Student Engagement.
