You’re invited! Reception for staff art exhibition set for June 9

When the hard-working staff at Chapman University isn’t, well, hard at work, a number of them are busy creating art. Leatherby Libraries celebrates that creative energy in the new Chapman Staff Art Exhibition now on display in Leatherby’s first floor Hall of Art. An opening reception is set for Thursday, June 9, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The exhibition includes a vast array of work from staff across campus, ranging from paintings and photography to book sculptures and even a hand-crafted Star Wars costume.

“It’s a really eclectic mix this year,” says Margaret Ellsworth, Leatherby Libraries’ events and marketing assistant. “I’m really excited by the diversity of departments represented and the diversity of the art. It’s not your typical art exhibition and it’s really fun.”

The exhibition continues through Aug. 25. Its opening is part of Chapman University’s Staff Summit Week 2016, an event that features a weeklong roster of professional workshops, training sessions, health education activities, an annual Staff Awards Ceremony and a closing Staff Appreciation Brunch.
