The screenplay Malarkey by Mark Axelrod, Ph.D., professor, Department of English, and director of the John Fowles Center for Creative Writing, Wilkinson College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts, is tentatively set to begin filming in spring, 2016, and will star Malcolm McDowell. Shooting locations, including Chapman, are still being considered. Novel version is in progress.

Kirk Kee, Ph.D., Department of Community Studies, Wilkinson College, Lisa Sparks, Ph.D., chair, Department of Communication Studies, Wilkinson College, Daniele Struppa, Ph.D., chancellor, published a health communications article titled “Information diffusion, Facebook clusters, and the simplicial model of social aggregation: a computational simulation of simplicial diffusers for community health interventions” in the journal Taylor & Francis Online.
Pedagogy of Insurrection: From Resurrection to Revolution by Peter McLaren, Ph.D., professor, College of Educational Studies, has been published by Peter Lang Publishing.

Judy Montgomery, Ph.D., chair of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, has been honored by the Providence Speech and Hearing Center as one of its “Fifty Faces of Providence.” The honor is in conjunction with the Providence Center’s 50th anniversary celebration and recognizes community partners who’ve helped build its legacy of excellence in the field of communication disorders.

Brennan Peterson, Ph.D.,  associate professor, Department of Psychology, and program chair for Marriage and Family Therapy Program, Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, published “Intentions and attitudes towards parenthood and fertility awareness among Chinese university students in Hong Kong; a comparison with Western samples” in the journal Human Reproduction. Peterson has conducted extensive research on young adults’ in the West and their underestimation of their “biological clocks.” This research reveals similar perceptions about fertility among Chinese university students.

Kyndra Rotunda, professor, Military and Veterans Law Institute, has published an article in November’s OC Lawyer Magazine, which discusses and analyzes recent Congressional reform related to sexual assault and harassment in the military.
