Randy A. Burba, Chapman University’s chief of public safety, has been selected to serve as president of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA).
As president of the international organization, Burba looks forward to having an impact on new policies and best practices for campus security professionals.
“Campus public safety, particularly with respect to sexual assaults, is at the forefront right now of local and national discussions. It is exciting to be able to work with such great colleagues on the board of directors to help develop best practices, work with legislators and advocacy groups on policy recommendations, and help shape the future of campus public safety,” Burba says.
The chief has led similar initiatives as president of the California College and University Police Chiefs Association, where his term as president concludes this summer.
“I look forward to expanding the conversations at the international level,” Burba says.
Burba will be installed as part of the association’s Annual Business Meeting on July 2, which will be held in conjunction with the Annual Conference in Nashville, Tenn.
