Dance team wins seventh consecutive national championship

For the seventh consecutive year, Chapman University’s Dance Team has won first place in its division at the USA Collegiate National Championships held at the Anaheim Convention Center.

After two days of competition, the Panthers were awarded the prize on March 23, outperforming all other teams competing in the 4-Year College Dance category – Division II and III schools. The team is comprised of 18 dance majors, led by co-captains Katie Gossen and Amanda Sullivan.

“They have been working all year for this moment. It was an amazing win supported by so many friends and family who flew in just to see them compete — during spring break even,” said Alicia Guy, assistant professor, Department of Dance.
