Mark Axelrod, Ph.D., professor, Department of English, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, won third place for Best Screenplay at the Oregon Film Festival for his screenplay Of Gold & Ashes.

Lori Cox Han, Ph.D., professor, Department of Political Science, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, wrote a blog post on the midterm elections for Presidential Power that was selected for republishing by The London School of Economics and Political Science.

Lisa Sparks, Ph.D., professor, double appointed with the Department of Communication Studies, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, Department of Health Sciences, has been awarded an International Fellowship at VU University Amsterdam.

Doug Sweet, instructor and director of the Undergraduate Writing Program, Department of English, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, reviewed Ambient Rhetoric in Rhetoric Review. Vol. 33, No. 3, 2014. 298-304. In addition, Sweet recently presented “Social” Learning and Material Community Capital at the10th Biennial Thomas R. Watson Conference, Oct. 16-18, in Louisville, Ky.
