‘Edutainment’ to be topic of Professor Cumiford’s Town & Gown talk

How do college students get their college and university education today?

Learn all about the contemporary classroom in today’s higher education world at the Thursday, May 1, Town & Gown Lunch at the Forum. Associate Professor Bill Cumiford, Ph.D. ’63, will present a talk titled EDUTAINMENT: Education or Entertainment? Higher Education in the Internet Age.

Cumiford, who teaches in the Department of History, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, will also discuss the potential concerns of bringing education and the entertainment media together in redefining higher education in the new millennium.

Luncheon seating begins at 11:30 a.m. in The William and Willa Dean Lyon Conference Center Argyros Forum, Room 209 ABC. Tickets are $30. Advance tickets are strongly recommended and may be purchased online.
