Mindfulness meditation program returns for summer at Fish Interfaith Center

Are you seeking ways to be more present and less anxious?  Would you like to cultivate positive emotions such as compassion in your life? Then mark your calendars for the summer session of “Introduction to Mindfulness,” a series of free classes offered by Gail Stearns, Ph.D., dean of the Wallace All Faiths Chapel.

The sessions meet from noon to 1 p.m., on Tuesdays, July 2 to July 23. No reservations are needed. Bring a small pillow for your back to help you sit straighter on a wooden chair, or a meditation cushion, if you prefer.

Research today is demonstrating that people can learn to live with more balance through simple daily meditation practice. These four sessions will introduce the science, spirit and practice of “mindfulness.” Attendance at all four sessions is recommended for the greatest benefit, but is not mandatory.
