KCET, the nation’s largest independent public television station serving Southern and Central California, and Chapman University, have announced a partnership to bring Chapman University’s dynamic people, programs and special events to a public broadcast audience on KCET.
The partnership will provide a wide range of arts and culture programming produced by Chapman University’s Panther Productions that KCET will acquire and broadcast to its more than 2.2 million monthly viewers.
The first joint project will be a special broadcast of Chapman University’s 49th annual Holiday Concert airing on KCET Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. Conducted by Stephen Coker, Angel Vazquez-Ramos and Daniel Alfred Wachs, the concert features the university’s combined choirs and chamber orchestra for a performance of traditional and world music for the season, featuring more than 125 singers and musicians.
“We are eager to become a media voice for the vibrant student and faculty work coming from Chapman University’s campus,” said Al Jerome, President and Chief Executive Officer of KCET. “We look forward to celebrating the diversity of their talent and being a conduit to Orange County arts and culture for our audience.”
