Director of information security to lead ethics committee for national organization

Todd Plesco, director of information security at Chapman University, has been chosen to chair the new Ethics (online) Virtual-Community Subcommittee created by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (
IEEE
) Ethics Education Committee.

Joining Plesco on the subcommittee are vice-chair Ehsan Sheybani, professor at Virginia State University, and secretary Ruel Ellis, professor at University of West Indies.

In addition, Plesco also volunteers as the secretary of the Ethics University Curriculum Subcommittee, also created by the IEEE Ethics Education Committee. He will serve on that subcommittee alongside Francisco Falcone, professor at Public University of Navarre, and David G. Reed of Creighton University.

Plesco’s initial goals include guiding the development of charters for both subcommittees as well as exploring “What a university curriculum on ethics education should include” and helping to “create an online Ethics Education Virtual Community.”

Plesco was also interviewed recently by
Ed Tech Magazine
for his expertise on mobile security.
