David Grossman

David Grossman, the internationally acclaimed Israeli author the
New York Times
has called “a writer who has been, for nearly two decades, one of the most original and talented not only in his own country, but anywhere” read from his works on Wednesday, Nov. 9 in Memorial Hall.

“An Evening with David Grossman” featured the author reading from his latest novel,
To the End of the Land.
Grossman also spoke about his writing, which embodies the histories, events, and challenges of his native land.

Grossman’s eight novels, two journalistic accounts, and other works, have been translated into more than 30 languages leading to numerous international awards. While his novels do not directly address the ongoing conflicts, they examine these events from the inside out. His extended essays explore the political scene more directly and address the humanity and fears of Palestinians and Israelis alike.

The author’s visit was sponsored by Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences.  For more information, visit the
