Schmid College gets an addition to its name

After careful consideration by senior faculty, administrators and the Schmid Family, Chancellor Daniele Struppa announced this week that a new name had been chosen for Schmid College of Science:  Schmid College of Science and Technology.

The new name goes into effect immediately and better reflects the total breadth of research and scholarly work underway within the college, Chancellor Struppa wrote in a letter announcing the new name to the campus community.

“It better showcases the interdisciplinary emphasis of our programs in the traditional sciences and in the technology fields that are more and more a part of any science endeavor,” the chancellor said.
