Albert Bandura
, Ph.D., the David Starr Jordan Professor Emeritus of Social Science in Psychology at Stanford University, will be the keynote speaker for the Student Undergraduate Research and Creative Scholars Fair at noon Wednesday, May 11.
The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Attallah Piazza. Dr. Bandura’s noon talk, “Alleviating Global Problems by Psychosocial Means,” will be in Memorial Hall. Admission is free.
Over a career spanning almost six decades, Bandura has been responsible for groundbreaking contributions to many fields of psychology, including social cognitive theory, therapy and personality psychology, and was also influential in the transition between behaviorism and cognitive psychology. He is known as the originator of social learning theory and the theory of self-efficacy, and is also responsible for the influential 1961
