Campus Confidential, July 30

Carol May, left, director of Academic Advising, and Natalie Blaylock, academic advisor, unpack in their new Beckman Hall offices.

* We know where we want to be next Fourth of July when the sky lights up with fireworks from Disneyland to Angel Stadium and beyond. The views from the new offices of Academic Advising, Beckman 406, are stunning. Of course the best part of the move is that the growing department, which added three staffers this summer, is out of makeshift classroom quarters and can set up shop in time for the return of students this fall. Stay tuned for an open house announcement. Academic Advising promises we can all come up for cookies and a looky-loo then.

* Want evidence that the Fish Interfaith Center is THE place to hold your wedding?  Look no further than these photos from a beautiful wedding ceremony held there recently and officiated by our own Dr. Ron Farmer, dean of the chapel. The father of the bride, in this case, is none other than one of the principals at AC Martin Partners, architects of the Interfaith Center.  See the gorgeous photos – scroll down the
photographers’ blog
till you get to “Hitt Wedding,” and then get ready for a visual treat — there are 40 or so photos taken here at Chapman.

* Be afraid, Bruce. Be very afraid. Chapman lacrosse legend Connor Martin ’10 has a new and wonderfully campy Bro Con Chill video up on
YouTube
. It’s been an all-around good week for Martin, who was named Rookie of the Week in his major league debut. Check out the coverage from a previous

post.
