The Egyptian American Organization has bestowed its highest award to Amer El-Ahraf, Ph.D., adjunct faculty, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Languages.
Dr. El-Ahraf was honored by the organization for his “leadership in environmental health science and practice, in Egypt and the United States; and for his excellent service to the Egyptian American community in Southern California.”
Dr. El-Ahraf combined his acceptance speech with a recitation of his own poems in Arabic, titled
“Uzkerini–Remember Me” and” Misr Habibiti–My Beloved Egypt,”
and
a presentation of his scientific paper, titled “
A Vision for Future Management of Environmental and Public Health: A Conceptual Framework based on the Principles of Universality, Integration, and Harmonization”.
The ceremony was held in February at UCLA.
Dr. El-Ahraf is finalizing his volume ( Diwan) of Arabic Poetry to be published in Egypt. Another one is planned for publication in the United States.
