A familiar face in a far away place

Dean Bassett and Professor Kroyer find a familiar face in Beijing, China.

Across the cyber transom comes this photo from Bob Bassett, dean of Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, and Bill Kroyer, professor and head of the digital arts program at Dodge, who are currently in Beijing for the 2010 International Academic Conference on Animation Education at Tsinghua University. At Tsinghua’s School of Business and Management, Dean Bassett and Professor Kroyer discovered a photographic display of Nobel Prize winners, including Chapman University’s Vernon Smith, winner of the 2002 Nobel Prize for Economics. Small world!

While at the conference they will deliver a keynote address titled “Teaching Classical Storytelling in the Digital Age: The Challenge of Educating the Millennial Student.”
