Ever wonder where the food you eat really comes from? Do you really want to know, because “You’ll never look at dinner the same way.” That’s the tag line for the 2010 Oscar-nominated documentary, Food, Inc. You can decide for yourself at a special screening of the documentary on Thursday (Feb. 11) at 7:30 p.m. in the Folino Theater. Producer Elise Pearlstein will answer questions and discuss the film after the screening.
Food, Inc., directed by veteran documentarian Robert Kenner, uses reports by Fast Food Nation author Eric Schlosser and The Omnivore’s Dilemma author Michael Pollan as a springboard to examine where the food we purchase at the grocery store really comes from, and what it means for the health of future generations. By exposing the cozy relationships between the food business and government, Pearlstein and Kenner shine the spotlight on the dark underbelly of the American food industry.
