A New Look and Name for Argyros Forum 209 You're invited to the dedication of the transformed conference suite, thanks to SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union.

It’s a well-known hot spot around Chapman University – Argyros Forum, Room 209. The spacious area is a popular setting for meetings, luncheons, symposiums, guest lectures, award ceremonies and countless other gatherings.

Now the campus community is invited to attend a particularly special celebration there when it is reintroduced as the SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union Conference Suite. The dedication ceremony will be on Monday, March 26, beginning with a 3:30 p.m. reception.

The three connecting rooms that make up that second-floor hub have been transformed into a state-of-the-art conference suite, thanks to the generous support of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union. The amenities include dry-erase glass boards, a new sound system, wireless technology, mounted television screens for interactive displays, as well as new wallcoverings and carpet.

More Than a Meeting Room

The transformation of the 3,400-square-foot facility reflects the University’s commitment to creating welcoming spaces where campus and community leaders and scholars can come together to share ideas, research and meaningful conversations, says Chapman President Daniele Struppa.

“We are very grateful for SchoolsFirst’s investment in the Chapman Family.  They are an excellent partner for Chapman. Not only are many of our employees members in the credit union, but several of our students are interns and several of our alumni are employees with SchoolsFirst,” Struppa said.

Community Connections

The conference suite is the latest of many contributions and support efforts to grow out of Chapman’s long-standing relationship with SchoolsFirst. In 2017 SchoolsFirst made possible the naming of the Esmael Adibi, Ph.D. Director’s Suite, in homage to the late professor who led the A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research. The tribute honored Adibi’s intellectual contributions to the field of economics and his devotion to teaching, as well as his 17 years of service as a board member and volunteer at the credit union.

SchoolsFirst is also a longtime supporter of the Anderson Center’s Economic Forecast Conference and Update events and has been the title sponsor for the Attallah College Women’s Leadership Forum for the past two years.
