A book honoring the scholarship and passionate spirit of the late Professor Marvin Meyer, Ph.D., will be unveiled at a reception on Monday, April 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Faculty Athenaeum.

, a festschrift edited by Julye Bidmead, Ph.D., associate professor of Religious Studies, and the Rev. Gail Stearns, Ph.D., dean of the Wallace All Faiths Chapel. The book also features forewards by Chancellor Daniele Struppa, Ph.D., and Elaine Pagels, Ph.D., professor of religion at Princeton University.
Meyer, known to many as the preeminent scholar who brought the Gnostic Gospels to life, held the Griset Chair in the Religious Studies department and was a member of the Chapman University faculty for 27 years.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the reception.
