Against a backdrop of saltwater taffy, Moon Pies, Candy Dots and Fizzies, Orange residents and others crowded Glassell Street less than a block north of the Plaza for the official Grand Opening of the
Orange Candy Company
on Saturday.
Mayor Carolyn Cavecche
and four City Council members were on hand to show their support, with the mayor joining store owner Mary Beth Wright in cutting the ribbon.

Visitors to the store were surrounded by walls covered in candy memorabilia, as candy games, pictures and old-school posters helped to get shoppers into the atmosphere. The small candy shop was filled with eager children and adults excited about all the candy-fun-filled times they had ahead of them. A balloon artist and face painter helped make it a fun time for all.
Next time you’re craving sweets, check out the Orange Candy Company, 144 N. Glassell St. After a hard day of work or study, what better destination than a candy store full of old favorites?
