Students will have the chance to connect with classmates, faculty and new President Matt Parlow during Chapman’s Homecoming Weekend on Friday, Oct. 3, through Saturday, Oct. 4.
Chapman’s two-day Homecoming celebration will be filled with master classes, open houses and other engaging events. The weekend will kick off a series of events commemorating Parlow’s inauguration.
As part of the festivities, students can attend a special talk on Oct. 3 featuring Keegan-Michael Key, the Emmy, Peabody and Webby Award-winning actor, writer and producer.
Known for his wide-ranging talent in both comedy and drama, Key will join Parlow, Student Government Assn. President Cintya Felix and University Program Board Chair Ripley Anderson for a fireside chat.
Key rose to worldwide attention as co-creator and co-star, alongside Jordan Peele, of Comedy Central’s groundbreaking sketch series “Key & Peele.” More recently, he starred in projects such as the animated sci-fi action film “Transformers One” and “The Super Mario Bros.”
Also on Oct. 3, there will be a Class of 1975 reunion and luncheon, a Schmid College mixer, a Homecoming Shabbat and open houses at Fowler Engineering, Keck Center research labs and the Samueli Holocaust Memorial Library.
On Oct. 4, the weekend continues with an all-alumni social at 5 p.m. in Argyros Forum. Attendees can reconnect with fellow Panthers, enjoy music, food and refreshments, and hear remarks from Parlow and Alumni Assn. President Michelle Philo. All alumni are invited, with special recognition for milestone reunion classes, clubs and organizations.
Earlier that day, guests can also explore Old Towne Orange, tour campus, visit the Hilbert Museum and participate in a variety of master classes and other engaging events.
