Walt Disney and Music: The Sherman Brothers Friday, March 14 at 7 p.m. in Sandhu Conference Center – Admission is free, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman were identified by Walt Disney himself as great storytellers who used music as their medium. He made them the first contract songwriters at the Disney Studio, where they composed dozens of the studio’s best-loved hits, including “It’s a Small World (After All)” and songs from “Mary Poppins,” “Winnie the Pooh” andThe Jungle Book”and many more, across all media from film to television to records to theme parks. Their prolific professional collaborations resulted in many awards, including two Oscars.
Jeffrey C. Sherman, the son of Robert B. Sherman and an accomplished writer, producer, and composer, will screen his renowned documentary film, “The Boys: The Sherman Brothers Story,” and will discuss his thoughts about Walt Disney and music and his discoveries and insights regarding Walt and the Sherman brothers after the screening.
 
NOTE: Due to high demand, this event has been relocated to Chapman’s Sandhu Conference Center, 571 N. Grand St., Orange. Parking is available in Chapman’s Anderson Parking Structure, 300 E. Walnut Ave., the underground parking garage beneath the football stadium. Exit on the ground level on Walnut Street and Grand, Sandhu Center is a half a block north on Grand. Early arrival is recommended, please allow ample time for parking and walk to the venue.
