Walt Disney: The First “Imagineer” 7 p.m. in Argyros Forum 202. Admission is free, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

In December of 1952, Walt Disney created an entirely new profession, one that is now known throughout the world: “Imagineer.” Charged with the creation, design, and construction of Disneyland, Walt saw this new creative group as “the blending of creative imagination with technical know-how.ā€ In this expert and insightful presentation, former Imagineer Tom K. Morris will share his incredible knowledge of the origins of what was known as WED Enterprises, stemming, in part, from Walt‘s desire for a less rigid and more collaborative creative environment than what had developed at his animation studio. Tom will introduce the original Imagineers, enlighten how Walt assembled talent and put teams together, and describe how this creative organization coalesced under Walt‘s creative vision and leadership.
