Stay Safe and Alert After a Disaster – Protect Yourself from Scammers

IS&T Logo

In the wake of a disaster, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed and vulnerable. These difficult times can test our strength, and sadly, they can also attract individuals who seek to exploit others’ hardship. Scammers and con artists often take advantage of disaster survivors by attempting to steal money or personal information through fraud or identity theft.

We understand how challenging recovery can be, and our priority is to support and protect you. The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) encourages all residents to remain vigilant and take simple but important steps to safeguard themselves and their loved ones from scams.

Please read Cal OES’s announcement to learn how to protect yourself and your community.

Stay safe and secure!
