For the fourth consecutive year, Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts has secured the No. 4 spot in The Hollywood Reporter’s prestigious list of top film schools. Dodge College has maintained its position since first moving into the top five in 2021.
“I’m thrilled that The Hollywood Reporter has once again named Dodge College the #4 film school in the country,” said Stephen Galloway, dean of Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. “We’ve now been No. 4 for four years straight, and have also been No. 4 in another key ranking, The Wrap. I’m truly grateful for the immense amount of effort our faculty, staff and students put in every day.”
Dodge College continues to stand out with its financial aid packages for student productions, offering $20,000 for every graduate thesis film and $15,000 for each undergraduate film. In addition to this support, the college provides advanced technology that few aspiring filmmakers have access to. The latest addition to its equipment is a $1 million, 40-foot LED wall, a state-of-the-art tool that is transforming the way students create and visualize their work.
The college also connects students to the film industry through its Master Class series. Over the past school year, students had the unique opportunity to learn from and engage with industry giants like Academy Award-winning director Alexander Payne and talent agent Ari Emanuel.
Dodge College’s influence extends beyond its campus, with alumni like Payton Koch making their mark in the industry. Koch, an Emmy-nominated editor, has gained recognition for his work on the hit series “Only Murders in the Building.”
By continually providing students with the tools, knowledge and connections necessary for success in the competitive film and media industry, Dodge College’s consistent top ranking demonstrates its commitment to excellence.
