During his annual State of the University address on Feb. 9., President Daniele C. Struppa recognized the university’s Top Employers for 2024. The Top Employers award celebrates the university’s most engaged employers and organizations that have shown an enduring commitment to hiring Chapman graduates.
“I want to take a moment to thank all the employers who trust us with providing the workforce that they need for their success,” said Struppa. “Thank you for the confidence you have in us and in the students that we graduate.”

Guests at the presentation included early talent acquisition recruiters and corporate executives from organizations representing a wide range of industries, including nationally-known corporations such as Apple, Deloitte and Johnson & Johnson, and beloved hometown institutions such as Angels Baseball, Segerstrom Center for the Arts and Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).
“We are honored to be a partner with Chapman,” said Karen Caswelch, COO of Irvine technology company Archytas. “We are extremely impressed with both the faculty and the quality of the students. We believe that the School of Engineering’s vision of merging theory and practical knowledge creates students who can add value day one.”
City of Hope President Annette Walker said that she is always looking to hire the best and brightest to advance the center’s mission of preventing, treating and curing cancer.
“Our Chapman graduates are exceptional individuals,” Walker said. “They are intellectually curious and understand the importance of using their gifts for a higher purpose. We’re looking forward to welcoming more Panthers into the City of Hope Orange County family.”
Many of those representing their organizations at the State of the University were Chapman alumni, who appreciate being able to create opportunities for new graduates as they launch their careers.
“As a graduate of Chapman, it has been my greatest privilege to continue to give back to the student body,” said Emily Marcus ’18, CEO of Emily Blair Media, who was also a 2023 commencement speaker and frequent guest lecturer at Chapman. “I always prioritize hiring Chapman interns and graduates, as I know they are educated and supported by the most elite, smart and creative staff and mentors in the industry.”
Justin Thompson ’18, a recruiter for Hoag, said, “It warms my heart to be able to return to campus and celebrate the organization I work for hiring capable fellow Panthers. I have had discussions with many Chapman students and alumni in my role as a recruiter at Hoag and I always ensure to highlight this during our conversations and let them know they are set up for success with a top notch education from Chapman University!”
Chapman’s Top Employers that have made it a priority to “Think Chapman First” when seeking interns or full-time employees have learned to depend upon the high quality candidates Chapman can provide.
“Seventy-three percent of our students have hands-on experience, cultivating their hard and soft skills, by the time they graduate,” said Jennifer Kim, associate vice president of career and professional development at Chapman, during a luncheon that followed the State of the University presentation. “Ninety-six percent of our internship employers agree that our Chapman students are proven and effective. Our Chapman students and alumni are exceptional communicators, team players and critical thinkers ready to add value to your organization.”
“We believe that having students from Chapman interning in our QA department is a win-win,” said owner of Village Green Food, Jenny Rosoff. “We get to work with great people, some of whom we’ve had the pleasure of hiring on full time, and the students gain the opportunity to work hands-on in a food manufacturing environment. Yes — it’s a win-win pretty much every time!”
“The talented students at Chapman are the future leaders of tomorrow,” said Paul Huynh, area healthcare supervisor for Walgreens. “We are glad to walk with them on their journey to success.
