Inclusive Employer Night 2023

Providing Opportunities: Recap of Inclusive Employer Night 2023

The Office of Career and Professional Development and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion co-hosted their second annual Inclusive Employer Night on Sept. 13.

Inclusive Employer Night provides an in-person networking opportunity for individuals who identify as Latinx, Black, people of color, Asian Pacific Islander Desi American, women, LGBTQIA+, first-generation, veterans, those with disabilities and other diverse identities to connect with representatives from organizations with a demonstrated dedication to diverse hiring practices and comprehensive staff retention and support strategies.

“The Inclusive Employer Night is one of the ways we empower our Panthers, especially those with marginalized identities, to go out of their comfort zones to meet with new employers and explore a variety of career paths,” said Jennifer Kim, assistant vice president of the Office of Career and Professional Development. “With the networking and elevator-pitch skills they developed and practiced during Inclusive Employer Night, our students will be well-equipped to effectively engage with our Fall Career Fair employers on Sept. 28.”

Twenty-four employers and 135 students attended this year’s Inclusive Employer Night, exceeding attendance from last year’s inaugural event.

This year’s employer representatives included CSI Professionals, The Disney Company, Ingram Micro, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC and more.
