In the midst of the holiday season is the most studious time of the year: finals week. Preparing your mind and body for what can be an overwhelming week goes beyond hitting the books. Chapman has resources and events to ease the tension and help you succeed.
Wellness Tote Bag Tabling
Students are invited to build their own wellness tote bag with free giveaways, including hydrating face masks, Liquid I.V., EmergenC, stress relief toys and more, all while learning about the YOU at Chapman wellness app, where you can find tips and tools for everything from your mental and physical health to friendships and finding balance. Hosted by Argyros Forum Student Union on Monday, Dec. 5, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Hot Cocoa and Postcards
On Tuesday, December 6, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate at the AF Student Union Stage. While you’re enjoying your hot cocoa, write a letter to a friend or loved one with stamps provided by the Student Union! This event will be held from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. and all students are welcome to attend.
Sweat the Stress Away in the Fitness Centers
Working out can relieve stress and improve your overall mental health. Take advantage of the Henley Hall and Argyros Fitness Centers, which are open from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Furry Friends for Finals
Students are invited to hang out with some friendly therapy dogs on Wednesday, Dec. 7, to melt the stress of finals away! Visit the resource table for additional mental health resources and test preparation. Hosted by Active Minds and Student Psychological Counseling Services from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Student Union Extended Hours
Hang out in Argyros Forum Student Union to study or take a break. Open 24 hours a day from Sunday, Dec. 11 – Friday, Dec. 16.
Study Space in the Union
The Student Union will set up additional tables for students to study, work on projects and have some treats. Contra will be provided on a first come, first served basis and study supplies such as post-its, scantrons and bluebooks will be available. Co-hosted by Argyros Forum Student Union and Wellness and Recreation Services on Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Yoga for Finals Week
Find Strength in Numbers with a Group Study Session
Join other students for a study session with drinks and snacks provided by various student organizations in Beckman Hall 201 on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Doti-Struppa Rock Wall
Feeling a little more adventurous? Get your adrenaline pumping at the Doti-Struppa Rock Wall before finals or during study breaks. The wall is open from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Monday –Thursday.
UPB’s Midnight Breakfast
Take a study break and grab a bite to eat at the UPB breakfast buffet. Late night studies can stir up an appetite, so remember to nourish your body while preparing your mind! Available at midnight on Dec. 12 to kick off finals week.
Leatherby Library Hours
Prefer some peace and quiet? Building hours for Leatherby Libraries are 7 a.m. – 12 a.m. Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. – 12 a.m. on Sunday. These hours will remain in effect through the Fall semester.
