8/9 Upcoming Chapman Zoom Security Changes

Beginning on August 9, all Chapman Zoom meetings will be required to have one of the following security options: a passcode, waiting room or “Only authenticated users can join meetings.” If no security option is enabled, Zoom will automatically secure all meetings with waiting room. This includes meetings already scheduled and newly scheduled meetings.

These settings are designed to prevent unwanted participants from joining your meeting or webinar and further protect Chapman against “Zoombombing.”

While the waiting room option will be set as the default, users who do not wish to use the waiting room may choose to use a passcode instead. For additional security, a user may also choose to enable both options.
