We are proud to name this week’s Service Plan of Recognition awardees for their extraordinary work as Chapman responds to COVID-19. Each staff and administrator selected embodies the dedication and integrity that continues to drive and strengthen Chapman University.

This week’s recipients are: 

Jackie Coyne, administrative assistant, Center for Undergraduate Excellence

Jackie has worked tirelessly transitioning our events to virtual platforms allowing our ambitious students an opportunity to present their research and creative activity to the Chapman community.  Her hard work, awesome attitude, and professionalism have made the Student Scholar Symposium a great success!   Her out of the box thinking and desire to experiment to find new ways of improving our virtual footprint is unparalleled.  Her hard work and dedication have really help us out during this stressful time.  She continues to do an excellent job for CUE with dedication and focus, while providing students with excellent customer service. – Lisa Kendrick

Karina Cruz, accounts payable specialist, Financial Services

Karina is being recognized for her respective efforts in making sure the new Supplier 360 platform is being handled with utmost professionalism, most especially during the ongoing pandemic period. She has been training the CU community and outside suppliers accordingly. – Adey Oyenuga

Edith Chacon, Sodexo – Food Service

Edith is a team member at Starbucks that has been working to keep our students engaged and welcomed to campus during the pandemic, through her amazing customer service at Starbucks. – Eric Cameron

Edwin Reyes, porter, Aramark

Edwin is a member of Aramark’s high touch cleaning crew. This team has played a major role in keeping the campus ready for in-person instruction. Thank you for your dedication during these difficult times. – Rick Turner

Axel Aviles, client services technician, IS&T

Axel has provided stellar service to staff regarding specific issues related to remote working. I recently received this comment from a staff member about Axel “I sincerely doubt I would have been able to remain at Chapman without him.” – Helen Norris

Dario Baraggiota, IT/media services support technician, IS&T

Dario has consistently done a great job supporting the Rinker campus through the challenges of hyflex teaching.  It is so great to have reliable, knowledgeable tech support on the Rinker campus! – Helen Norris

Shahrzad Khosrowpour, coordinator of cataloging and librarian, Leatherby Libraries

Shahrzad provided prompt access to eBooks from the Leatherby Libraries, to support newly published and timely reading material on Black Lives Matter and the Black History Month Reading List offered by Dr. Angelica Allen. – Helen Norris

Patrick Rausch, technology buyer, Financial Services

Patrick did a great job helping IS&T order docking stations for CUSB in anticipation of return to campus, and was able to negotiate a low price point, saving the University money. – Helen Norris
