Maggie Sandoval, academics record coordinator, University Registrar
Maggie Sandoval started In the Office of the University Registrar only a few weeks before we began working from home last March. Having been mostly trained remotely and facing so many new challenges, she has truly stepped up and is doing an outstanding job helping students, staff and faculty in her role. She constantly maintains a positive attitude and is always willing to learn new things in our office and she truly is a team player. – Jan McCuen
Sonia Rubiano, food services
Sonia has been a key part of our retail team in opening Starbucks for the students this spring, She has been a big help in keeping everything moving forward. – Eric Cameron
Kati Bye, executive assistant, Facilities Management
Kati has been an instrumental component in the success of our Facilities remote teams. She has been the primary conduit for information and other office support functions associated with keeping the department on track. Thank you, Kati! – Rick Turner
Vince Fernandez, HVAC tech, Facilities Management
Vince has been responsible for the acquisition/installation of our COVID-19 filter program since March ’20. Without him we wouldn’t have been able to meet the suggested modifications to the Indoor Air Quality standards recommended. – Rick Turner
Edward Lan, senior web programmer/Analyst, IS&T
Edward put together the COVID-19 vaccine submission form in less than a month for the Chapman community. The requirements shifted frequently, and he was able to pivot quickly to meet the needs of the taskforce. – Helen Norris
Darla Welty, administrative assistant, Dean of Students Office/Student Conduct
Due to our orientation programs being online this year, hundreds of new students failed to complete the required programs, which resulted in registration holds. Darla proactively followed up with these students to complete their requirements so they could register for spring classes. – Jerry Price
Erica Evans, parent engagement coordinator, UA SED, Office of Parent Engagement
Erica is integral for all our Chapman Parents and Families, last week she coordinated our first ever week-long Parent Spring Summit. Her leadership, determination, and enthusiastic personality has been outstanding for our Parents and Families. – Delite Travis
Rosa Rodriguez, advancement operations manager, University Advancement Operations
Rosa has been a great partner to many departments in UA in supporting their budget and expense management in this remote environment. She has a proactive approach and reminds colleagues of deadlines and requirements. – Pia Brancolino
