Congratulations to the Recipients of This Week’s Service Plan of Recognition

We are proud to name this week’s Service Plan of Recognition awardees for their extraordinary work as Chapman responds to COVID-19. Each staff and administrator selected embodies the dedication and integrity that continues to drive and strengthen Chapman University.

This week’s recipients are: 

 Odilia Solares, Randall Dining Commons supervisor, Sodexo

Odilia has worked so hard to get everything ready for students to come back to Randall this spring. – Eric Cameron

Alexandra Polwektow, department assistant, Student Business Services

Alex has been quick to respond to our students and parents, ensuring they are getting the assistance needed. She recently assisted in creating a Virtual Office and helped implement Live Chat. Alex always greets you with a virtual smile and cheerful voice, a great asset to the department. Thank you, Alex. – Becky Schlafer

Jannel Hope, senior analyst, Financial Services

Jannel has been the lead on our most recent project with Student Business Services to enhance the student experience; her willingness to step up and learn something new while remote. Your dedication to seeing everything through is incomparable. Thank you, Jannel. – Becky Schlafer

Elena Marusak, instructional technologist, IS&T

Elena volunteered to be available on Saturday morning to support a program to teach classes to previously incarcerated youth.  This was the first time these classes had been delivered remotely, and Elena’s support ensured success. – Helen Norris

Jeremy Hvidsten, client/medias service cechnician, IS&T

Jeremy provides excellent support to virtual meetings and also supports people working from home. He was especially helpful during the rollout of 2-factor authentication.  I receive notes from faculty and staff regarding his excellent support. – H. Norris

Kristin Laughtin-Dunker, coordinator of scholarly communications & electronic resources, Leatherby Libraries

Kristin has done a great job of managing the relationships with the Library’s online content providers, which has been very complicated in this changing environment. – Helen Norris

Eddie Sauceda, chair of access services, Leatherby Libraries

Eddie oversees the curbside pickup program at Leatherby Libraries and has provided outstanding service to faculty and students for regular and emergency requests. – Helen Norris
