Chapman’s Office of Sustainability Asks Campus to Participate in Food Insecurity Survey

Chapman University remains committed to supporting the physical needs and well-being of our campus community.

To help identify and meet some of those needs, the Office of Sustainability and the Diversity Project Committee on Socio-Economic Stratification is inviting all faculty, staff and students to participate in the Food Insecurity Survey. The survey, which is completely anonymous, aims to better understand levels of food insecurity at Chapman and to expand food security initiatives on campus and in the local community.

As a member of our university, your participation in this survey is essential in helping identify the needs of our campus community and ways to allocate resources in order to meet those needs. The survey, which takes about eight minutes, asks participants about their access to food and levels of economic security.

“As a recent Chapman graduate, I wish resources about food insecurity were more widespread,” says 2020-2021 Shinnyo Fellow Sydney Cheung. “I knew several people who could have benefitted from this knowledge. Sending out this survey is important because we can assess the Chapman community’s needs, rather than assuming what they need. With this data, we can expand our efforts to support food insecure students, staff and faculty.”

Upon completing the survey, you’ll also have the option of entering a raffle to win a gift card for a vendor at the Orange Home Grown Farmers Market.
