We are proud to name this week’s Service Plan of Recognition awardees for their extraordinary work as Chapman responds to COVID-19. Each staff and administrator selected embodies the dedication and integrity that continues to drive and strengthen Chapman University.

This week’s recipients are: 

Tim Frenchcampbell , wellness & leaves administration specialist, Human Resources

With a small team, Tim worked tirelessly to build and deploy a web-based intake form for COVID-19 accommodations requests to streamline services for at-risk faculty and staff, which will greatly benefit the campus this summer and fall. – Brian Powell

I often receive emails praising John’s customer service.  Last week I received this email: “He has always been ready to assist us whenever we need it and answers our questions at all times. He has made our operation run more smoothly.” – Helen Norris

Devon Marlink, client services technician, IS&T

I often receive emails like this regarding Devon: “Devon has been the most gracious, helpful, patient, knowledgeable team member I’ve worked with during my 13 years at Chapman. It’s such a pleasure working with him.” – Helen Norris

Barron Williams, associate director, IS&T

Barron is a tremendous leader in IS&T. His personal customer service skills and patience set the tone for the entire department.  He is conscientious, professional, and responsive at all times. –Helen Norris

Chris Wargo, officer, Public Safety

Gregory Castro, officer, Public Safety

Officers Wargo and Castro helped an 89-year-old neighbor whose vehicle broke down in the intersection of Center and Rose.  They pushed the car to the neighbor’s home on Rose street.  A great show of compassion and the Chapman Spirit.  – Randy Burba

Michael Whitehouse, equipment coordinator, Public Safety

Michael has done an outstanding job making sure the daily PPE needs of our department personnel are met so we may perform our duties safely. – Randy Burba

Taryn Stroop, operations administrator, Office of Research

Taryn has been instrumental in coordinating the Ask the Expert COVID-19 Virtual Town Halls and in support of the efforts to restart research. These efforts are in direct support of our faculty and students conducting COVID-19 research. – Tom Piechota

Jessica Barber, strategist, Strategic Marketing and Communications

Jessica has been instrumental in the development of incoming student communications to help these students and parents feel connected, informed and confident about their decision and safe transition into Chapman University. – Jamie Ceman

Alex Quintanilla, junior graphic designer, Strategic Marketing and Communications

Alex has done an amazing job for Creative Services these past several months. He has provided outstanding service to our partners, all while continuing his own education at Chapman. His support to the team has been an invaluable asset. – Jamie Ceman

Kelsey Alcantra, university events assistant director, University Advancement

Kelsey is an extraordinary team member always looking ahead; taking the initiative of new tasks and challenges.  Her positive attitude, patience and “can do” attitude makes her an integral part of the team. – Rachael Samimi

Garrett Aanestad, manager of the Chapman Fund, Strategic Engagement and Development

Garrett is amazing at strengthening donor engagement and fundraising, especially in a virtual environment. A donor recently said, “What a great guy! Just wanted to brag on him and say you have a good one on the team. Really genuine and kind.” – Delite Travis

Josh Sarsfield, university events operations coordinator, University Advancement

Josh is a conscientious steward of Chapman’s resources. He successfully pursued the return of a deposit from a vendor that went out of business. Josh continuously supports his team by positively taking on new tasks and projects. – Rachael Samimi
