Congratulations to this Week’s Service Plan of Recognition Recipients

We are proud to name this week’s Service Plan of Recognition awardees for their extraordinary work as Chapman responds to COVID-19. Each staff and administrator selected embodies the dedication and integrity that continues to drive and strengthen Chapman University.

This week’s recipients are: 

Lenae Wilson, senior administrative assistant, Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences

Lenae has been a tremendous asset during the campus closure, by dedicating herself to completing the faculty load and banked credit database, and also volunteering to be the first college to utilize the Docusign process for OFA contracts. – LB Brown

This team has gone above and beyond by providing emergency CARES funding to hundreds of students, ensuring that they receive monies needed to assist with additional expenses in this time of need due to the shift to remote learning. – Mike Pelly

Adrianna is extremely helpful, always going above and beyond. Even during these times with face coverings blocking her expressions, she has found a way to demonstrate her pleasantries through her actions. We appreciate all that she does. – Rick Turner

John Bui, project manager/business analyst, IS&T

John is managing the project to add technology to approximately 250 classrooms over the summer to be ready for hybrid or remote teaching in the Fall.  He has been amazing at getting the work organized across multiple teams and vendors. – Helen Norris

I often receive compliments like this about Adam from end-users: “He was very professional and courteous during our interaction and the issue has been resolved satisfactorily.  Please pass on my thanks to him, as well. THANK YOU!” – Helen Norris

Crystal Barney, assistant director, Budget Office

Crystal has been working with IS&T on complex budget issues in IS&T related to CU Safely Back and upcoming budget changes.  She has been wonderfully responsive and helpful, and we appreciate her every day! – Helen Norris

Jaliz Fabio, operations coordinator, IS&T

Jay has been incredibly responsive as we have needed to quickly buy equipment to support faculty and staff working remotely and prepare classrooms for Fall.  She responds quickly to all requests, even through the fiscal year-end timeframe. – Helen Norris

Malisa Hoyme, manager front of house, Musco Center for the Arts

Malisa, on her own time and at her own expense, sewed masks for several of our public safety employees who are currently working.  An incredibly kind gesture for which we are grateful. –Randy Burba

Rosa Gonzalez, custodian, Aramark

Rosa reported suspicious circumstances at Henley Hall.  Officers responded and made contact with a male adult who was subsequently arrested for trespassing. Rosa’s diligence is a great example of teamwork in keeping our community safe. – Randy Burba

David Troast, parking & transportation officer, Public Safety, Parking & Transportation Services

David has played a vital role in helping maintain campus security and safety.  His keen observation has proven invaluable to the university.  I appreciate his dedication to Chapman and our department. – Randy Burba

These Public Safety personnel assisted a homeless person who was having difficulty. They provided money for food and large towels for warmth. They showed true human kindness and represented the Chapman spirit of kindness and compassion well. – Randy Burba

Morgan has spent extra time addressing faculty and college concerns about the budget impacts of COVID-19 on sponsored activity, all while the department is short-staffed. Her commitment to our faculty and students is much appreciated. – Tom Piechota

Nicholas Nadel, web developer, Strategic Marketing and Communications

Nicholas has been pivotal in improving our virtual user experience during this time, including developing a new homepage for recruitment efforts. His detailed eye and consistent push for better digital experiences is a huge asset. – Jamie Ceman

Renée Lahey, student success data analyst, Student Affairs

Renee’s teamwork attitude and data analysis expertise have been instrumental to our Campus Leadership Awards and the development of our 2020-21 housing plan. She is efficient, patient, and always willing to help with projects. – Jerry Price
